Hey BLAZERS,
Are you still cooling down from the opening game last night? I know I am. The BLAZERS came out strong and were ready to battle from the start. Both our 1st & 2nd lines played extremely well and showed a lot of talent last night: great skating, NHL speed, skillful puck handling, strategic passing, unbeatable goaltending, true sportsmanship, and high scoring. All players handled their individual positions extremely well and truly earned their first victory of the season – the final score 6:2. The game puck went to Aidan Hammond. Congratulations BLAZERS!
Thank you to BOB & CINDY BORDAS for the game snacks. They were very much appreciated by all players. Yummy!
The Coaches will be working on lines for Monday’s game on Saturday. Please let me know if you cannot make it to the game. Thank you. Now, let’s take a few minutes and re-live the most impressive moments from our game last night….thanks to our own BLAZERS Cameraman – Mr. ActionShot – Jack Balthasar! Jack didn’t miss a second and documented the entire game. Take a look at our BLAZERS through his powerful lens
Coach Bob giving a pregame strategy talk to a group of very attentive Blazers.

Blazers show team unity immediately before taking the ice for combat!

The Blazers show of the famous "Mighty Ducks flying wedge" formation. This difficult formation leaves teams in such fear many of their players opt to flee rather than face this formation! We just need to get this formation going towards the opponents goal, rather than towards the side boards, to be really impressive!

Here is a more typical positional style of play that worked well for us in this game.
Strong defense
and goaltending is always a required for a chance at victory and the boys provided that in abundance for this game.
